Michelle is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and member of the Dietitians Association of Australia and Sports Dietitians Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics Honours from the University of Wollongong, and has worked in the health and fitness industry since 2012. Michelle has gained invaluable experience in a variety of key dietetic areas including clinical, community and food service settings. Michelle is also qualified as a personal trainer so has a well rounded view of nutrition, fitness and general health.
Michelle practises a client-centred approach, offering advice tailored for the individual, whilst providing support and motivation to assist her clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes to optimise their health. She consults on general nutritional issues including healthy eating, food intolerances, diabetes management, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Michelle also has a strong interest in sports nutrition, and recently completed a Performance Nutrition Fellowship with the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby team. Prior to this, she consulted to the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL team, and conducted research investigating the dietary intake quality of adolescent athletes, which she presented at the 2015 Dietitians Association of Australia National Conference.
Michelle believes that a healthy balanced diet and regular physical activity are fundamental to wellness and the prevention of injury and disease. Additionally, she sees food as more than just energy and nutrients, being also a source of enjoyment and pleasure. To keep fit and active, Michelle trains for and participates in triathlons, which she loves just as much as chocolate.
